Oh look, it's been a while since the last progress report. Hello again everyone, it's been a while! After taking some time off and finding balance in my world, we're proud to finally talk about some of the changes we've managed to squeeze into Apollo Studio over the last couple months. These are mostly system rewrites which make Apollo cleaner and better to use.
The bridge towards the new year marks a stale period for the development of Apollo Studio. Most improvements were either quality of life features or performance optimizations, but there were some new highly requested devices sprinkled in as well! Today we won't be putting much focus on that though, we're going to be talking more about the situation with modern Launchpads as well as the future of Apollo Studio.
November was an exciting month for the development of Apollo Studio. After spending the majority of the last couple months optimizing Apollo and adding small features, we thought it's about time Apollo can pack a larger punch, so today we're going to mostly be discussing brand new features, some of which are new to Launchpad light effects as a whole. But before we get into that, we've got more Launchpad X regressions and illogicalities to uncover...
The single greatest mission of Apollo Studio is to allow for the most complex and versatile effects while simultaneously being as easy as possible to use. These past months have been filled with all kinds of small quality of life improvements that make Apollo Studio easier to use.
The development cycle for Apollo Studio is mostly based on users' needs, rather than the developer's vision for the project. Most changes are relatively small compared to the size of the program, often being no more than bug fixes and minor features which improve the user experience. These small improvements are very important to providing a smoother experience for our users. The Apollo Studio Progress Report is a monthly update highlighting the most important improvements that keep Apollo Studio moving forward.
It's hard to believe it, but we're finally here, and I am pleased to announce the release of Apollo Studio 1.0! We're aware everyone is eager to try all the new ideas they have for Apollo. Apollo Studio is finally public and officially available for download on our GitHub Releases page. Along the stable release, you can also find all prior alpha, beta and release candidate editions of Apollo Studio, if you want to discover how Apollo Studio developed and came to be.
Welcome to the brand new Apollo Studio website! This has been a sort of secret Launchpad project that I've worked on and off on for almost a year now. A lot of hard work, a few false starts, but here we are! It's been a huge effort - we'd like to especially thank vaaski, the primary architect behind the new website; LaunchpadLights for the logo and artwork, and lastly rpg.aleksy for his feedback and help with the project. I'm mat1jaczyyy, and here’s a brief overview of some of our new features only found in Apollo Studio!
